East Texas Disaster Relief is a voluntary organization of the Gregg Baptist Association and the Southern Baptist Convention. Our organization is comprised of members that have completed the Disaster Relief Yellow Cap orientation, a disaster preparation class.
Our equipment now consists of five trailers: a 32' gooseneck trailer (which serves as our mobile kitchen), a 32' gooseneck trailer that is used as a pantry unit, a 32' gooseneck support trailer that carries supplies and serves as a mobile office, a 16' support and luggage trailer, and our newest addition of a 50-kilowatt diesel generator and propane tank trailer. We are equipped with six 55-gallon tilt skillets and two convection ovens. This has greatly enhanced our ability to prepare a variety of food, for more people, in a shorter time and is less labor intensive. All this has been paid for by donations.
East Texas Disaster Relief has served both locally and world-wide in ministry. From tornadoes and earthquakes in Texas and Louisiana to a tsunami in Sri Lanka, the earthquake in Haiti, and the World Trade Center terrorist attack, our Disaster Relief has had volunteers to serve.
One hundred percent of our support comes from right here in East Texas. We do not receive and funds from our convention or the government. Thanks are extended to the individuals, churches, and Gregg Baptist Association for your continued prayers and financial support. We have ongoing expenses like insurance and utilities that must be paid, as well as replace equipment as it wears out and add new equipment as needed.
Remember to pray for our relief team members when they are out serving.
